| In this session, we will look at several complicated relational models that pose challenges to reporting. While many reports can be generated by finding the right records in a child table and then using a layout with summary and subsummary parts, we'll examine some reporting needs that require us to go "beyond layout mode" and use scripts and calculations to pull data from multiple tables and present it in non-standard ways. Specifically, we will tackle Outer Joins, create a cross tab report to analyze a many-to-many-to-many relationship, and lastly generate a graphical organizational chart for a one-to-many self relationship. New FileMaker Pro 9 features such as conditional formatting and the enhanced web viewer will be used to present the results in more attractive and informative fashions. |
