Database Transactions
Understanding how transactions work, theoretically and practically, can help you create solid solutions that hold up extremely well under heavy load conditions or when handling mission critical data processes. This session explores the issues and problems Database Transactions were designed to address. We'll discuss the technical definition of a Database Transaction and walk step by step through the key concepts and techniques required to manage Database Transactions in FileMaker Pro. We'll also cover some advanced topics such as constructing "pessimistic" transactions, and nested transactions. In the companion session, "Database Transactions Workshop," you'll be encouraged to try out these techniques in your own solutions.
